This autobiography reveals the depth and complexity of Pryor's life and personality. I'm much more impressed with the performance than I expected to be. Are you *kidding* me? No, JD Jackson doesn't have Richard Pryor's voice - he's not an impressionist - but for me, he's captured Pryor's rhythm and heart with amazing skill. Unsurprising when you consider that the raw honesty sees subjects such as being abused as a child, racism, being an abuser of women himself, and living with MS come up. No, of course it's not Richard Pryor was a human being, and this is his honest autobiography! There *are* plenty of laughs, but no, not every page is stuffed with them. Okay, so, to address the two most common gripes in other reviews: 1) "It's not a laugh a minute!". ![]()
